San Francisco offers a wonderful variety of exciting and healthy places to eat. I prefer to eat ethnic food when I am out. If you choose right, it almost always guarantees authentic fresh ingredients.

Samovar Tea Lounge (3 locations in SF) has a menu that offers an array of items that are delicious and good for you.  The staff is great and the ambience is wonderful with a  cozy vibe. Tea Soup with Brown Rice, Veggies, Salmon, Smoked Duck or Tofu is one of my favorites. the broth is actually a tea made with turmeric and warm spices.

Sandwiches are beautiful and freshly made, artisanal whole grain breads, curious combinations like Curry Egg Salad and Apple make it interesting.

The most lavish dishes are the tea services. The Moorish Tea comes with a lot of yummy items: Halloumi & Veggie Kebab, Mint Salad, Hummus,
Roasted Eggplant, Greek Yogurt, Herb Crackers,
Chevre-Stuffed Dates, Mint Tea.

The Japanese Tea (pictured) includes Tofu or Smoked Salmon, Wakame Seaweed Salad with sesame-miso dressing, Seasoned Brown Rice, Steamed Kale with tangy sesame dressing, Toasted Nori, Seasonal Soup

The variety of teas offered is also quite special. Herbals, Whites, Greens and some interesting blends.

Samovar is definitely a good choice for ambience, food and healthy fare.
