Baking is fun and a great way to have healthy sweets on hand. I have managed to break a very strong sugar habit by making my own cookies, sweet breads and cakes. my favorite sweeteners are palm (coconut) sugar, honey, maple syrup, molasses and stevia. agave has a lot of hype but unfortunately it’s a highly refined product and I can’t recommend it. baking at home also allows you a break from gluten. while I don’t have celiac’s or intolerance, gluten causes inflammation and so I like to use wheat flour alternatives. buckwheat is a favorite!
